I [heart} faces - Adult Reflection

Here is my entry for the I {heart} faces Reflections Theme - adult.  My grandma went to sit with Jesus this last January, at the age of 90.   Living 90 years she saw, experienced and lived through a lot in her life time.  This little pocket mirror was once hers.  I might not have her here any more to kiss and hold, but at least when I look into this mirror, I can see a piece of her reflected in it.  To see more adult entries, click here.

Prima Ballerina

This week at I {heart} faces, the theme is "reflection".  I had such a difficult time choosing a picture . . . "Do I submit the picture that I like the best," or "Do I submit the best composition," or "Do I submit the picture with the reflection as the main subject," or "Do I choose the picture where the reflection REALLY stands out?"  See what I mean?  Anyway, here are few of the other ones.

And the Winners ARE . . . .

We printed out all of the comments, cut them out, folded them in half and had Kenzie draw two from out of a bowl.  SOOOOOOOO, the two she drew are . . . . .

Oh . . . the anticipation . . . .

I can hardly handle it . . . .

Congrats, I'll get these off to the two of you.  If you email me with your color choice, I'll try to get that one to you (if you both pick the same color, whoever asks first will get that color)

I {heart} Faces . . . . reflection

Here is our prima ballerina  checking out her own reflection as she "practices"; it is also my entry into the I {heart} faces "Reflection" category for the week.  I had such a difficult time choosing a picture from this batch.  If you would like to see some that didn't make the "cut", they are in another post.  To see more kid reflections at I {heart} faces, click here.

Sweet Baby!

I had the pleasure of taking a few pictures of a little 3 week old baby last Thursday.  Although photographing a baby was A LOT more challenging that I had anticipated, I loved it and had such a great time with the little precious bundle, her sister and her sweet momma who, by the way, is even more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside.  I sure hope that she likes a few of these!  Welcome to this world, Baby Girl!

Shot of the Week

Look at this little sweet baby I got to photograph yesterday!  She is such a doll and only 3 weeks old.  She is such a beauty, if I do say so myself.

Self Portrait

I have to admit that I did not like the contest category this week at I {heart} faces.  I don't care to be in pictures, nor do I care to look at them for too long if someone actually convinced me to get in one.  Now, I have discovered that even worse is editing an up close picture of my self . . .EESSHHHHK!  Anyway, my goal is to submit pictures for their contests every week, whether I have what I think is a great picture or not.  Otherwise, I'd never enter (seeing so many other great pictures out there!).  Technically, the hardest part for me was getting the correct part in focus as I had to only guess since I (obviously) could not look through the camera to see where it was focusing.

The above picture is a self portrait of my son and me and my entry for the "kids" side of the contest.  Click here to see more kids entries.  He is so goofy and he actually was doing this while I was attempting to take my adult self portrait.  Although the right part is not in focus, I like it.  He totally makes the picture and he always makes me laugh, so it is pretty appropriate.

The below picture is my entry for the adult side of the contest.  Although I do not plan on doing any more of these self-portraits any time soon, I am looking forward to seeing all the other entries.  I think it will be a fun week!  To see more adult entries click here.

New Favorite

I think that this might be my new favorite picture.

Fun Friday-to-Friday Freebie

So, I saw this napkin at Pottery Barn and really liked it.  However, it doesn't match anything in any of our dining areas.  What to do, what to do.

So, since I am on a sewing kick with my obsessive personality, I thought that I'd make a shirt for my little girl and I bought a few napkins thinking I'd need them all (and, they were cheap!).
Anyway, long story short (I know, too late), I bought twice as much as I needed and now have two extra shirts!
If you would like to win one of these (one is blue and one is red), just leave a comment and put a link to this give-a-way on your blog.  Super simple!  This contest will close on Friday, April 24th at 11:59 p.m. and the winners will be announced on the following Monday!
Feel free to let me know if you prefer blue or red.  And, so you don't have to ask, I'll pay to ship it to you too, as long as you are in the continental US.

Good luck!

FYI, I'm FAR from an expert seamstress, so be patient with me, it's free.  And, this little napkin shirt is also fully lined.  As it is not from a pattern, I'm not sure of the size, but all the straps are adjustable.  I think that it will fit 3T-5T.  The model is almost 4.
Oh, yeah, and please, bare with the "model" as she was in a mood that was WAY too silly for pictures, but I wanted to get this up on Friday (Fun Saturday-to-Saturday Freebie doesn't sound quite as nice).

This last picture does not show the shirt very well, but I think it my very well be one of my favorite pictures of her ever . . . so, I had to put it on.

Shot of the Week

This is my favorite shot this week because it shows our little girl's personality so well.  She is so happy and content and filled will smiles, songs and silliness.
